A Streamlining access officer will be located in each LOOKOUT Centre to improve access to high-quality early childhood education for children known to child protection aged under three years of age. Early engagement with quality services that also provide kindergarten will facilitate timely and successful transition to early start kindergarten. To achieve this, streamlining access officers will work collaboratively with early childhood learning advisors and early childhood implementation branches to co-ordinate proactive engagement with child protection and other relevant stakeholders such family services, child first/orange door for the purpose of building capacity and capability to enrol children in quality ECEC services. The streamlining access officers will also be available to provide advice in relation to complex cases.

About the Division

Student Wellbeing and Engagement Division (SWED) is responsible for workforce capability development, professional practice leadership and delivery, wellbeing and support services delivery to children, young people and their families to assist them in their learning and development and assist and support children and young people who are vulnerable, disengaged, and those with disabilities or challenging behaviour.

LOOKOUT Education Support Centres are designed to boost the capability of early childhood services, schools, carers, child protection practitioners and out-of-home care services to improve educational outcomes for children and young people living in out-of-home care.

About the Role

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's degree Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Social Work or another relevant field.
