Team Lead, Food and Fibre Exports

• $127,467 - $170,579 plus superannuation

The Team

The position of Team Lead, Food and Fibre Exports sits within the Trade Branch of the Global Victoria Group and will be responsible for delivery of Food and Fibre trade programs. The Trade Branch is responsible for:

• developing high level international policy
• delivering trade strategies and facilitating market access for Victorian firms to increase Victoria's exports
• designing and implementing targeted trade initiatives including inbound and outbound missions. 

The Role

The successful applicant will enjoy flexible working arrangements and undertake a wide variety of work across the group, including delivery of key programs to assist businesses access international Food and Fibre opportunities, will provide expert advice and analysis to high-level stakeholders and represent Global Victoria in a variety of forums, both internal and external.

Key accountabilities:

1. Effectively manage a team of industry trade specialists and collaborate with other teams in Global Victoria to deliver trade missions and the trade objectives for the sector strategies. 
2. Lead and implement market access, trade and investment activities/projects on behalf of DJPR directed at improving the export capability and performance of Victoria's Food and Fibre sectors, in conjunction with government and industry collaborators.
3. Identify, develop and foster key relationships with relevant Food and Fibre industry, government and commercial stakeholders in Australia and export markets to promote Victoria's strengths and to target, maximise and facilitate trade development opportunities for Victorian businesses to grow exports.

The Candidate

The successful applicant will work effectively as a member of the Global Victoria team, including engaging with staff overseas in the international network of 23 Victorian Trade and Investment offices.  The engagement will broaden to include other stakeholders within the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions (DJPR) and other branches within the Victorian Government.  The role provides a great opportunity to leverage existing, or further develop, Government networks.
