  • VPS-3 – Team Leader, Administration/Property Services $68,884 - $76,263 plus superannuation and leave loading
  • One Ongoing Full Time opportunity for 76 hours fortnight
  • The usual place of work will be Portland Police Complex, 2 Glenelg Street, Portland. However you may also be required to work at other locations within the Western Region Division 2.


About the role:


As the successful applicant your duties will consist of the below:


  • Oversee, supervise and undertake station administration, and/or property and/or personnel functions, and be accountable for providing motivation, performance feedback and coordination of training activities to team members, as appropriate.
  • Consistently role model high standards of customer service to all clients of the Region/Department/Command and adopt best practice behaviours in all interpersonal dealings, both verbally and, in writing or within a team environment.
  • Perform and oversee a broad range of project management, and/or property, administrative, computer and station record management activities, including drafting, preparing and collating various correspondence and allocating routine financial, and/or personnel, statistical and other various types of tasks to team members.
  • Ensure processes and procedures are compliant with relevant regulations, policies and procedures and provide recommendations for remedial action when required.
  • Provide sound advice and support to senior management and regional staff on a range of administrative related issues.
  • Actively participate as a senior member of the local management team, contributing to Region/Department/Command initiates and activities.
  • Attend to telephone and counter enquiries as required.



Skills and Experience


As the successful applicant, you will have:


  • Demonstrated experience in managing a team through activities such as individual / team performance and development.
  • Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written, including an aptitude for personal accuracy and quality outcomes.
  • A sound ability to supervise administrative and project activities, solve service delivery problems and determine work area allocation.
  • A good knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and practices to enable the provision of authoritative and accurate advice.
  • Proven interpersonal skills, dealing effectively with a wide range of personnel within a large and diverse organisation focusing on continual improvement.
  • Sound computer skills, particularly in word-processing and other software packages.
  • An understanding of the customer service requirements of the position and a demonstrated record of strong commitment and achievement in meeting customer needs.
  • A proven record of ethical behaviour and a demonstrated commitment to the Victoria Police Code of Ethics and Conduct, Financial Code of Practice, and the Organisational Values.



Requirements and relevant information:


  • Position is working within Western Division 2, location will be in Portland Police Complex
  • The successful applicant may be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head.  To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
