The Commission is an independent statutory body that promotes improvement in policies and practices affecting the safety and wellbeing of Victorian children and young people. It has a particular focus on vulnerable children and young people. The Commission is also the regulator for the Child Safe Standards and the Reportable Conduct Scheme. Flexible work and hybrid working models are encouraged and supported by the Commission, Mandatory Vaccinations The Commission is committed to providing and maintaining a working environment which is safe and without risk to the health of its workers and stakeholders. About the opportunity 

Reporting to the Manager, Inquiries and Engagement, the Team Leader, Inquiries and Engagement provides specialist project management expertise and oversight of the inquiries team to ensure the production of high quality child death, individual and systemic inquiries

Strong people and project management skills are central to this position, along with knowledge and expertise in inquiries methodology and stakeholder consultation.

 In this role you will:

  • manage a team of senior inquiries and review officers
  • manage a case load of inquiries
  • ensure the production of high quality, impactful and timely inquiry reports.

 About You

 As our ideal candidate, you will:

  • have outstanding written communication skills
  • have excellent people and project management skills
  • experience in or knowledge of the child protection or out of home care systems
