About the Role

The Team Leader Program Development reports to the Manager Asset Planning, utilises project management knowledge, skills to prepare annual maintenance program for arterial road network ensuring that programs are prepared considering the needs of all stakeholders and are developed within corporate guidelines and timeframes. This role liaises with internal and external stakeholders and provides expert development advice for the delivery of planned maintenance predominantly but not limited to pavement resurfacing and rehabilitation. This role takes coordinates with teams within Maintenance Operations, Asset and Engineering Division, Metro and Regional Capital Delivery Teams to ensure the program provides opportnuties for a optimum utilisation of available resources.The usual placesof work are in Ballarat, Geelong and Bendigo

Position Outcomes / Accountabilities

As Team Leader Program Development you will communicate with internal and external stakeholders to educate and influence them on maintenance practices, ensuring that project proposals are developed within corporate guidelines and timeframes while considering the needs of all stakeholders. Your role includes applying well-developed asset management skills to achieve objectives in developing road asset maintenance programs. Furthermore,you will prepare briefs, cabinet submissions and correspondence related to the development of DTP’s road programs.

Utilizing your strong project management skills, you will lead the development of road maintenance programs encompassing routine, periodic and rehabilitation tasks. These programs are designed to meet agreed targets of scope, cost, time, and quality, adhering closely to relevant policies and toolkits.You will exercise professional independent judgment to innovate solutions for complex problems and introduce improved systems and practices that align with business area targets. Furthermore utilize your leadership skills to effectively lead, manage, motivate and develop staff, fostering a culture of ongoing learning and development. This includes providing clear expectations, sharing knowledge and offering continuous feedback to promote a safe, inclusive, and flexible team environment.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in project management or Civil Engineering or extensive experience in delivering / development of road maintenance programs or of similar infrastructure discipline.
