About the role

This role reviews and provides concise, accurate and timely decisions on objections to taxation assessments, as well as issuing private rulings in response to tax technical questions from legal and accounting professionals.

 

Key responsibilities

Reporting to a team leader, you will be responsible for:

  • Effectively managing a file portfolio of low to medium complexity private rulings and/or objections across all revenue lines
  • Assisting the Knowledge Management Branch with the content maintenance, enhancement and promotion of the SRO's internal knowledge management database and the development of revenue rulings and publications
  • Participating in inter-branch consultation regarding the application of legislation, the development of tax policy, draft legislation, and the conduct of litigation

 

The ideal candidate

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Sound research, analytical and investigative skills to review complex objections and provide tax technical advice
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation in a complex legal and commercial environment

A relevant qualification in law, accounting or commerce will be well regarded. If you are a graduate, or are experienced in law, accounting or commerce, we encourage you to apply.
