This is a great opportunity for a qualified and experienced theatre technician to join our Theatre team, working on a casual basis. In this role, you will be responsible for attending to duties in a manner that contributes to the promotion and delivery of a high standard of client care, recognising and acting in accordance with the legal requirements and policies and procedures of MDHS.

Award: Victorian Public Health Sector (Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers) Single Interest Enterprise Agreement 2021 - 2025

This is a great opportunity for a qualified and experienced theatre technician to join our Theatre team, working on a casual basis. In this role, you will be responsible for attending to duties in a manner that contributes to the promotion and delivery of a high standard of client care, recognising and acting in accordance with the legal requirements and policies and procedures of MDHS.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

  • Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Operating Theatre Technical Support) or equivalent, and
  • Minimum 12 months experience as a Theatre Technician.

Technical/Professional Knowledge and skills

  • Ability to perform duties required while rotating through all surgical specialties offered in the operating suite.
  • Understanding of the importance of all standards and policies relevant to the Operating Theatre
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Understanding of the importance of prioritised equipment
  • Be competent in performing the role of a Theatre Technician
  • Demonstrated evidence of commitment to ongoing education and professional development to ensure working within current scope of practice.
