About the Role
The vegetation management program aims to reduce the risk and severity of bushfires through fuel management and building capacity of volunteers and staff in understanding the use of fire in fire prevention and improve knowledge of fire behaviour for safe and effective suppression.
The Vegetation Management Coordinator is responsible for providing specialist advice to CFA as an expert in vegetation management as well as providing support to the region, Vegetation Management staff and other parts of CFA in their fire safety responsibilities. You will work closely with other land and fire management agencies to support a sector-wide use of common operating models, systems and processes for the efficient implementation of fuel management for bushfire risk reduction.

About You
To succeed in this key role, you will ideally be tertiary qualified in Science, Natural Resource Management, Emergency Management or a related discipline and /or hold extensive experience in project management / program implementation for bushfire mitigation, fuel management, land management or another relevant field.
You will have demonstrated skills and experience in fuel management - preferably including the planning and implementation of complex planned burning operations as well as proven skills in program management and the ability to research, analyse and report on information to inform program planning and delivery. You will also possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and represent CFA at external forums.
