General Work Description

The VET & Careers Co-ordinator will work closely with the Careers Manager and Heads of House at both campuses.

The primary focus of the role is to administer the External VET program and assist the careers and pathways team to prepare for course and career counselling as part of their transition to senior studies or prior to students exiting from school .   


Typical Specific Duties

  • Working in conjunction with Careers Team, Heads of House, Welfare, parents, students and others in order to mentor and counsel students on Pathways and Career options.
  • Liaison with TAFE colleges in order to provide pathways and “Taster” courses for students at risk as well as students who have these particular interests
  • Assisting with the organisation of work experience and SWL
  • Support for, and participation in, course counselling and application for alternative programs
  • Mentoring staff involved in Course Counselling
  • Team supporting role – collegiate support between members of the Careers and Pathways Department, particularly when parent and student demand is at a peak.
  • Liaison with VASS Coordinator, VCE Administrators Heads of Senior School, and Heads of House
  • Assist students in their selection of an external VET subject
  • Undertake external VET enrolments
  • Prepare MOUs for the external VET providers
  • Monitor attendance for external VET students
  • Liaise with Heads of House and VCE Co-ordinator regarding all aspects of the external VET program
  • Liaise with the Business Manager in regard to the external VET budget
  • Organise the payment of invoices for external VET students in regard to their tuition and materials fees
  • Attend Mullum VET Cluster meetings
  • Other duties as determined by the Principal.
