The Youth Engagement Project Officer reports to the Senior Youth Engagement Officer. The Officer's work focuses on ensuring views and lived experiences of children and young people are sought, heard and acted on. The role works with children and young people from a range of backgrounds and experiences (including the Commission's Youth Council) and across the Commission to facilitate opportunities for children and young people to be involved in and influence the work of the Commission.

This is a special measures role and only people aged between 18 to 25 years are eligible to apply, as per the Equal Opportunity Act 2010.

In this role you will:

1.      Drawing upon lived experience, supporting all areas of the Commission to embed and implement an evolving approach to youth engagement and participation
2.      Contributing to the Commission's work to connect with more children and young people to achieve the Commission's objectives
3.      Planning, preparing and facilitating Youth Council meetings
4.      Being a point of contact, coordination and support for Youth Council members
5.      Developing social media plans and content
6.      Organising, scheduling and setting up stakeholder meetings, including the preparation of materials and equipment when required (internal and external)
7.      Contributing to the preparation of project plans, briefings, presentations, reports, correspondence and presentations
8.      Delivering presentations to internal and external audiences
9.      Actively contributing to the development of a positive and high-performing team culture, including identifying and implementing opportunities to improve team work practices
10.      Assisting with any other projects and administrative tasks as required.
