About the roles

The Mental Health and Wellbeing Commission (MHWC) have two exciting roles available within the Complaints and Resolutions Team for highly motivated and compassionate individuals who are ready to apply their complaints resolutions and effective communication skills towards supporting the MHWC to promote, support and protect the rights of consumers, families, carers and supporters.

The Complaints and Resolutions Team operates in the MHWC and provides a critical frontline function in managing and resolving complaints where the person believes their rights under the Act and the Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities (2006) have been breached.

Our responsibilities include:

  • monitoring and reporting on the performance, quality and safety of the mental health and wellbeing system
  • holding government to account by initiating and managing our own inquiries
  • handling and investigating complaints about mental health and wellbeing service delivery to support our objectives
  • monitoring the government’s progress in system reform to ensure the system meets the expectations of people with lived experience in mental illness or psychological distress, their families, carers and supporters
  • enabling lived experience leadership.

The Resolutions Officer manages and resolves complaints while maintaining the independence of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Commission (MHWC). This may include complaints where the person believes their rights under the Act and the Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities (2006) have been breached.

The MHWC has an inclusive approach and actively promotes diversity, inclusion and an equal opportunity workplace.
